Founded in 1964 by Prof. Dr. Utay Ratanen, ophthalmologist.
The founder and first head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, he is also a researcher in the internal properties of the retina, which succeeded and became a basic approach to ophthalmology used by ophthalmologists in all countries of the world as a medical standard until the present time.
